Amur Minerals Corporation (LON:AMC) has signed an agreement with the Far East Investment and Export Agency (FEIEA), a body newly established by the Russian government to promote investment in the Far East of Russia, specifically from within Russia, from China, and from India.
Amur’s Kun-Manie nickel sulphide project lies in the Amur Oblast in the Russian Far East, close to the border with China.
Previously, Amur had signed a co-operation agreement with a body associated with the FEIEA, the Far East Development Fund. That agreement will remain in place, since the FEIEA will focus more on an investment banking role while the Far East Development Fund will focus primarily on the development of infrastructure.
However, the FEIEA’s new chief, Petr Shelakhaev immediately issued a strong statement of intent in regard to Kun-Manie.
"We will use our core investment banking experience and wide investor network to provide the development of Amur's Kun-Manie nickel project with necessary capital,” he said.
“We consider this project as one of the most promising for the social and economic development of the Russian Far East. To find investors the Agency in alliance with the Far East Development Fund will leverage its business relations with the largest investors and trading companies in Russia, India and China."
