Savannah pleased with consistent copper grades in Oman

At Mahab, the final hole in the programme recorded 14.25m at 3.86% copper

Savannah Resources Plc (LON:SAV) has unearthed more high grade copper from drilling in Oman and has started a new programme to add additional resources to the mine plan.

Grades from Mahab 4 and Maquail South in Block 5 continued the good mineralisation found earlier, said David Archer, chief executive,

At Mahab, the final hole in the programme recorded 14.25m at 3.86% copper adding to a previous best indication of over 47m at 6%.

Savannah has also started a four hole programme at Aarja/Dog's Bone prospect in Block 4.

Archer said the consistent and broad high grades of copper at Mahab 4 and Maqail South were encouraging.

Drilling at the Aarja prospect will target the Dog's Bone zone to firm this into a JORC compliant resource and be considered as part of the potential mine development.

Savannah can earn 65% of Omani company, Al Thuraya, the owner of the Block 4 Project and is a 65% shareholder in Al Fairuz Mining, the holder of the Block 5 licence.

Broker Northland said Savannah Resources was "not letting up as it continues its rapid pace of advancement at its Omani Copper Projects, starting another drill programme on Block 4, as soon as, the Block 5 drill programme finishes".

Shares added 5% to 5.25p.
