He described the successful first phase of MeyGen as a foundation for the tidal industry to build upon.

Compound MTR104 has been selected to start a formal new drug-enabling programme during 2017, with human studies scheduled for 2018.

A first contribution from recent acquisition Comms UK helped telecoms services group Adept Telecom PLC (LON:ADT) lift interim profits by a quarter.

Shareholders get a similar boost their dividend with enough spare to allow the strategy of cash and earning boosting acquisitions to continue.

Sula Iron & Gold (LON:SULA) suspects its Ferensola gold deposit in Sierra Leone could be significantly bigger than first thought following the latest discovery on the property.

Its geologists have found weathered gold-bearing iron oxide quartz after cutting a road across an area called the Eastern Target.

IGas Energy Plc (LON:IGAS) now has the green light for its proposed shale gas project at Mission Springs, in Nottinghamshire.

It now has planning permission to drill two exploration wells with a view to confirming the commercial potential of what are believed to be vast untapped gas resources.

Electric motors and pumps supplier Hayward Tyler Group PLC (LON:HAYT) has seen an up-tick in new order activity in the last couple of months.

Order intake has improved as the financial year (which runs to the end of March) has worn on, with the first quarter seeing £8.2mln of new orders, the second seeing £17.3mln, while the third quarter – which we are barely halfway through – saw new orders worth £10.9mln flow in.

Asiamet Resources Ltd (LON:ARS) has reported excellent continuity of copper mineralisation from the latest round of drilling work at its Beruang Kanan Main project (BKM).

Much of this mineralisation lies close to surface.

Sound Energy PLC’s (LON:SOU) profile has been further boosted with the share’s inclusion into the MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes.

It has been one of 2016’s standout small cap stocks, up 350% in the year to date, driven by the success of gas wells in Morocco.

Aircraft lessor Avation PLC (LON:AVAP) would consider an immediate dividend to shareholders from part of profits received if it were to conclude a sale of its ATR turboprop portfolio.

As revealed last month, the group has received an expression of interest for the 22 planes, which consist of relatively new aircraft and which generates high lease yields.

eg solutions PLC (LON:EGS) has won its first mobile and multilingual back office optimisation contract with a new retail energy company, which will provide revenue immediately.

The software group will install its operational intelligence software suite and eg mobile across around 500 back office, call centre and sales staff in Europe to support the unnamed group's customer service.
