Sunrise Resources shares boosted by Pozz project expansion

The CS project comprises 15 new claims staked by the group.

Shares in Sunrise Resources Plc (LON:SRES) rose today after the group expanded its Pozz project in Nevada by staking a second deposit.

The CS project comprises 15 new claims staked by the group.

This second deposit lies 14km from a sealed highway with links down to the potentially large markets in southern California.

Executive chairman Patrick Cheetham said: "We share the belief of existing pozzolan producers that this is an opportune time to be developing new sources of natural pozzolan as a "green" cement replacement material in concrete."

The firm noted that there was a favourably high glass content in the CS deposit of around 97.5% against 80% in the Pozz Ash project.

Similar materials are already being successfully marketed in the western USA as natural pozzolan, Sunrise noted.

Cheetham noted that availability of coal fly-ash as a pozzolan, traditionally used as a partial cement replacement in concrete, is diminishing as coal fired power plants are phased out and increasingly stringent emission controls are imposed on the remaining plants.

Natural pozzolans compete with fly-ash and so I am pleased to be announcing an expansion of our Pozz project".

Sunrise shares added 8.57% to 0.19p on the day.
