Hydrogen fuel specialist ITM Power (LON:ITM) has added car hire group Europcar UK to its growing list of fleet customers.
Europcar has just been awarded a grant from UK government agency OLEV, money that will be used to acquire what it says will be the UK’s largest privately owned fleet of hydrogen cars.
These cars can re-fuel at ITM’s stations at £10/kg under the contract, a price in line with other recent deals signed by the hydrogen supplier.
The contract is the sixth ITM has won recently to supply hydrogen fuel. Hyundai, Toyota, Commercial Group, Arcola Energy and Arval are the other customers.
Its hydrogen refuelling network has also been financially supported by OLEV as well as Innovate UK and EU and industry-supported venture FCH JU.
Graham Cooley, chief executive, said: "The adoption of FCEVs and our green hydrogen fuel continues to gather pace.”
