Kromek Group PLC (LON:KMK) has scooped the Tech Achievement of the Year prize at the UK Tech Awards 2016.

The radiation detection firm was recognised for being appointed as the sole source supplier to deliver its DS3 personal radiation detectors in mass volumes to the US Defense Advanced Research Projects agency in support of its programme to prevent attacks involving radiological “dirty bombs”.

Akers Biosciences Inc. (LON:AKR, NASDAQ:AKER) has won European patent protection for its breath ketone detector.

This safeguards the technology at the heart of the device that offers a non-invasive method of monitoring diabetes.

AIM quoted wearable tech and health monitoring specialist CloudTag Inc (LON:CTAG) has today confirmed it has received £1.4mln proceeds from the issue of debt securities to an investor.

It is the first tranche of loan notes issued to L1 Capital Global Opportunities Master Fund.

In the same statement, CloudTag highlighted that it has now begun product manufacturing for the £800,000 order from Second Chance Limited yesterday.

Ariana Resources plc (LON:AAU) is eyeing a second mine at its Red Rabbit project in Turkey after a scoping study at Tavsan came back very favourably.

Gold production from Red Rabbit is expected to get underway this year from the new Kiziltepe mine.

Tavsan would add a further 30,000 ounces a year to the 20,000 expected from Kiziltepe.

Shares in ServicePower Technologies Plc (LON:SVR) rose 70% in late morning trade after it confirmed it had received a bid approach.

The would-be buyer is a firm called Jonas Computing, the UK offshoot of the Canada-listed giant Constellation Software Inc.

Greatland Gold PLC (LON:GGP) and shareholder Metal Tiger PLC (LON:MTR) are to work together over the next 12 months to find new projects in Australia and Asia.

Metal Tiger will inform Greatland of early-stage exploration projects it considers attractive but too early stage for its own portfolio while Greatland will refer projects it considers too large or complex to Metal Tiger.

If all goes well, the companies may form an Australia-listed company to focus on precious and strategic base metals.

Gold explorer Condor Gold PLC (LON:CNR) has started scout drilling at several smaller targets at its flagship La India project in Nicaragua.

The purpose of the 4,000 metre drill programme is to demonstrate the gold potential across the entire project, which is currently estimated to be host to 2.31 Moz of gold.

Over-the-top services investor Falcon Acquisitions Limited (LON:FAL) has agreed to acquire the direct-to-consumer media technology firm Teevee Networks Limited for £500,000.

The deal is conditional upon Teevee being re-admitted to listing on the Official List and to trading on the London Stock Exchange, Falcon added.

Stadium Group plc (LON:SDM) has announced that it is now seeking a new group finance director, as Rex Orton is unable to take up his position due to ill health.

Orton was to take up the position at the start of November.

Westminster Group PLC’s (LON:WSG) ferry division, Sovereign Ferries, is preparing to start its ferry service in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

In-country registration formalities, sea trials and international safety compliance checks have all been completed.
