Gold explorer Condor Gold PLC (LON:CNR) has started scout drilling at several smaller targets at its flagship La India project in Nicaragua.
The purpose of the 4,000 metre drill programme is to demonstrate the gold potential across the entire project, which is currently estimated to be host to 2.31 Moz of gold.
The first 2,000m of drilling is to expand mineralisation at the El Cacao and Cristalito-Tatescame targets, as well as to test for mineralisation the Andrea vein, which has never been drilled.
The location of the final 2,000m of drilling will depend on initial drilling and may also be used to test other targets, Condor said.
“I am delighted that we have now prioritised several highly promising targets and are commencing scout drilling at El Cacao and Cristalito-Tatescame,” said chief executive Mark Child.
“Although each is currently relatively small, we believe that both have excellent potential to host much larger gold resources.”
So far 87m of drilling has been completed at El Cacao, Condor added.
La India has 104.5km strike length of veins, of which only 13.2km have been drill tested.
