Activity at the Arapua fertilizer project in Brazil, owned by Harvest Minerals Limited (LON:HMI) is proceeding on several fronts.
The application for a trial mining permit is with the mines department and is likely to be granted shortly, pending the outcome of an inspection that Harvest is scheduling to coincide with the completion of civil and infrastructure works.
Meanwhile, exploration drilling continues, with a view to expanding the size of the resource at Arapua, with results expected early in 2017.
And ongoing agronomic work on the product has also proved favourable. Tests have shown that there is no free silica in the product, which is important as silica can be dangerous if inhaled during application.
The product has also been shown to meet the ministry of agriculture guidelines for a “remineraliser.”
Shares in Harvest have more than quadrupled since July, when a scoping study outlined the economic potential of Arapua and the company cancelled its Australian listing and all trade moved to Aim.
