Forbidden Technologies plc (LON:FBT) said its Forscene video editing platform has been chosen for use on Royal Holloway University of London's ADAPT project.
ADAPT is a European Research Council-funded project researching the history of television production technology.
Forscene, Forbidden's flagship cloud-based platform, will be used as the remote editing suite for the project.
The company said that the task would have been near impossible with other technologies because of the volume of video content being fed in, organised, and edited from multiple sources across numerous locations.
"Forscene offers us the flexibility and scale to complete this project with the resources we have. It seems apt that as we research how production technology has evolved, we are using one of the most advanced technologies in the industry to tell this story," said John Ellis, professor of Media Arts at Royal Holloway.
The ADAPT project will run until 2018, and receipts from it will start to be received in the current financial year.
"The ADAPT project offers us another opportunity to not only offer value where other technologies would struggle, but also to be part of one of the leading media universities in the world,” said Aziz Musa, chief executive officer of Forbidden.
