Proactive news highlights: BATM, Victoria Oil & Gas, Allergy Therapeutics

BATM secures a contract down under; Victoria Oil & Gas starts development drilling in Cameroon; Allergy Therapeutics secures European patent; plus much more

Networking specialist BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LON:BVC) has been awarded a contract in Australia to provide a managed network traffic management solution.

The contract – worth between US$1.5mln and US$2mln – has been placed by a major provider of high-speed network and information & communications technology services to education and research facilities in Australia.

Meanwhile, Victoria Oil & Gas plc (LON:VOG) has spudded two development wells at its Logbaba gas field in Cameroon.

The wells, to be drilled by Savannah Oil Services, are designed to move 2P (Proven plus Probable) reserves into the more certain 1P (Proven) reserve category.

Allergy Therapeutics plc (LON:AGY) has strengthened its core intellectual property after the European Patent Office granted it a broad technology patent for its Microcrystalline Tyrosine (MCT) depot adjuvant manufacturing process.

The patent covers the novel manufacture and physiochemical characteristics of MTC in combination with one or more antigens, Allergy said.

Elsewhere, DekelOil Public Limited (LON:DKL) has announced a change at the top of its palm oil operation in the Ivory Coast.

Vince McAleer will take over as the chief executive of subsidiary Dekeloil Côte d'Ivoire on 16 November, replacing Eyal Timmor who is moving on to other things.

Vast Resources PLC (LON:VAST) has kicked off drilling at the Faneata tailings dam near its Baita Plai polymetallic mine in Romania as it aims to produce a new JORC resource for the project in the first quarter of 2017.

Previous sampling suggests the tailings contain economic minerals, including 4,080 tonnes of copper; 6,640 tonnes of zinc; 3,100 tonnes of lead; 35 tonnes of silver and 309kg of gold.

Secure Property Development and Investment PLC (LON:SPDI) has been issued a default notice over the BlueBigBox3 property in Craiova, Romania.

Acquired in 2015 and let to DIY retailer Praktiker, SPDI has been negotiating with vendor Bluehouse Capital over a restructuring of the €6.1mln of convertible preference shares (RCPSs) issued to pay for the property.

In other news, Mariana Resources Ltd (LON:MARL, CVE: MRA) has started to identify targets at its recently acquired Bondoukou gold projects in the Ivory Coast.

The AIM-listed junior acquired the acreage when it took an 80% stake in local explorer Awalé Resources last month and has moved quickly to start exploration in areas where artisanal miners are already prospecting.

Three directors of renewables specialist Active Energy Group PLC (LON:AEG) have purchased more shares in the company.

Chief executive Richard Spinks has upped his overall stake in the company to 1.55% after purchasing 63,000 shares at 3p, while chief financial officer Brian Evans-Jones bought 150,000 shares at 2.86p.

Non-executive chairman Michael Rowan completed the set, purchasing 160,000 at 2.9p to take his interest in Active to 0.46%.

And finally, Indonesia-focused copper group Asiamet Resources Limited (LON:ARS, CVE:ARS) has issued 10.5mln shares to non- exec directors, consultants and employees as part of a stock option plan.

The shares are exercisable between November 1 this year, and November 1, 2021, at an exercise price of C$0.065 per share - a premium to the current price of C$0.04 a share
