The drilling has tested the main mineralised zone for a further 300 metres east of previous drilling and intersected the target zone to a vertical depth of 350 metres.
The results from the first two holes of the program include:
- 7 metres at 2.1% copper, 1.0% zinc from 193 metres including 2 metres at 5.9% copper, 3.0% zinc; and
- 4 metres at 0.7% copper, 0.1% zinc from 320 metres including 1 metre at 2.3% copper, 0.3% zinc.
The results from the remaining holes in the program will be received over the coming weeks.
The extension of the main mineralised zone is now well understood with drilling having intersected mineralisation on a very predictable trend that remains open in several directions.
Helix will continue to use downhole geophysics, infill and extensional drilling to define the full extent of the mineralised zone at Collerina.
The company is also expecting results from a diamond drilling program at the Cobar Gold Project in New South Wales.
The potential for a high-grade gold deposits at Cobar is significant, with the nearby Mt Boppy Gold Mine producing 500,000 ounces of gold with an average grade of 10 g/t gold.
