Investors are likely to check-in to hotels and coffee giant Whitbread plc (LON:WTB) if only to see whether there has been a decline in growth.
The state of the UK economy and managment's thoughts on the future and a post Brexit world may also feature.
The firm runs the famous Premier Inn brand and in the March quarter total sales in this division grew by 8% and like-for-like sales by 2.1%, benefitting from the group’s hotel extension programme.
Like for like revpar (revenue per available room) dropped 0.5% and total revpar declined by 1.2%, reflecting the market environment it revealed in June.
Barclays analyst Vicki Stern reckons the forward picture for revenue per available room (RevPAR), a key sales measure for Whitbread's hotels, has pointed to a "clear deceleration" in growth.
And the weaker pound is unlikely to help, as the weaker pound has historically harmed rather than helped UK RevPAR numbers.
The Barclays analyst reckons that full-year earnings per share (EPS) will be in line with consensus, up 12% to 237p from 212p.
Barclays says the stock has a forward price to earnings (PE) multiple of 15.7 and recently traded on multiples around 20 and has averaged 16 over the last six years.
But it reckons that doesn't look so appetising when you factor in the sluggish EPS compound annual growth rate (CAGR) forecast of 4.9% from 2016 to 2020, compared to 16% in the previous four years.
In June Whitbread had said it remained confident of making good progress in the full year.
Whitbread said its strong financial position remained unchanged.
“The group has a little work to do,” said analysts at Langton Capital. It said pressure from competitors and the difficult London market were unlikely to dissipate any time soon.
However the broker said the group had an attractive freehold base and international brands.
