Risers & fallers: Botswana Diamonds loses lustre as it commences drilling

Botswana Diamonds said drilling has commenced on kimberlite pipe AK 22 on Licence PL 260 in the Orapa area of Botswana

Mercom Capital PLC (LON:MCC), up 43%. Calvet International has lifted its stake in the investment company above 10% to 12.32%.

Cambria Africa plc (LON:CMB), up 28%. The shares surged on the back of a trading result that showed cash flow was good enough to pay off almost US$1mln in debt.

Altona Energy PLC (LON:ANR), up 27%. The company has submitted a petroleum exploration licence application in the Arckaringa Basin in South Australia.

FALLERS

Botswana Diamonds PLC (LON:BOD), down 6.3%. Drilling has commenced on kimberlite pipe AK 22 on Licence PL 260 in the Orapa area of Botswana.

Chaarat Gold Holdings Ltd (LON:CGH), up 8.6%. See Chaarat rejects bid approach

Hardide Plc (LON:HDD), up 8.6%. The surface coating technology company’s pre-close trading update revealed signs of a pick-up in orders from oil and gas customers.

Restaurant Group PLC (LON:RTN), up 4.4%. The eateries owner has been on a rough run of late but the chairman, CEO and CFO have all shown some faith, buying about 70,000 shares in aggregate.

FALLERS

CSF Group PLC (LON:CSFG), down 14%. Shareholders voted in favour today of the proposed delisting of the company from Aim.

1Spatial PLC (LON:SPA), down 13%. The spatial data specialist saw half-year revenues surge by 60% but adjusted underlying earnings fell by two-thirds, and the loss before tax widened to £2.1mln from £1.5mln the year before.

ASOS PLC (LON:ASC), down 6.9%. The online retailer found the market very hard to please, despite posting better-than-expected numbers.

Diamondcorp Plc (LON:DCP), up 38%. Mining has resumed at the company’s Lace diamond mine.

MySQUAR Limited (LON:MYSQ), up 13%. Talk about a delayed reaction; shares fell yesterday, despite the Myanmar-focused social media company announcing a mind-blowing 660% increase in users since it floated on Aim in July 2015. The shares have recovered those losses – and then some – today.

Marshall Motor Holdings PLC (LON:MMH), up 10%. The company said it knows of no reason for the sharpish share price dip over the last couple of days, and reassured the market by reiterating it is on track to meet full-year expectations.

FALLERS

Premier African Minerals Limited (LON:PREM), down 12%. The company has acquired a 4.5% stake in Casa Mining, a company that holds prospective gold mining and exploration licences in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
