The project is situated on the southern margin of the Plutonic Well greenstone belt, 36 kilometres northeast of the Plutonic gold mine.
Lodestar’s geochemical sampling program is the first systematic exploration completed over these areas for almost 20 years.
Assay results were received for more than 1,000 soil samples for the Marymia and West Pinnyriny prospects.
Anomalous gold to a maximum of 61 ppb (parts per billion) gold was located in structural positions adjacent to lithological contacts and faults at Marymia.
The company found anomalous gold to a maximum of 20 ppb gold associated with mafic lithological contacts at West Pinnyriny.
These new targets add to a growing catalogue of discovery opportunities on the Ned’s Creek project and will be assessed by ground truthing, further sampling and drill testing.
Lodestar will also carry out a 5,000 metre aircore drilling program designed to find supergene (near-surface) gold mineralisation at the Contessa gold prospect within Ned’s Creek.
Previous drill intersections reported at Contessa include 5 metres at 6.6 g/t gold from 55 metres and 10 metres at 5.6 g/t gold from 55 metres.
