Domino's Pizza sees rising dough from digital sales and store openings

The company is confident of delivering full year results in line with expectations.

Domino's Pizza Plc (LON:DOM) told investors it is confident of delivering full year results in line with market expectations, after increasing third quarter sales by 11%.

The group – Domino’s franchiser for UK, Republic of Ireland and Switzerland – reported £237mln of revenue for the three months ended September 25, up from £212mln in the same period of 2015.

It marks a 15% rise in group revenue for the first nine months of the year which amounted to £731.5mln.

UK third quarter sales increased to £220.9mln, versus £200mln in Q3 2015, while Irish sales rose to €14.9mln from €13.8mln.

Domino’s said its strong growth in the UK was driven by ongoing investment in the group’s digital platform as well as its store opening programme. It also highlighted a trend of increasing digital orders for its operations in Ireland, and noted that its business was benefitting from the country’s growing economy.

David Wild, Domino’s chief executive, said: “As highlighted at our interim results in July, we face tough comparatives in the second half of the year, but our continued investment in e-commerce, our international expansion and the launch of our new Italiano range taking us to new customers, will help to drive performance for the remainder of the year.

“Our new store programme provides a strong platform for future growth.”
