The company conducted soil and rock chip sampling over an area of 4 square kilometres, collecting 650 soil samples.
The results are more than adequate to highlight lithium anomalies and prospective pegmatite zones in preparation for follow-up field investigation, target prioritisation and drill testing.
Historic and recent sampling has identified the area as hosting lithium bearing pegmatites with sampling to locate and define the most prospective zones now completed.
The Lake Johnston atomic absorption assay machine has also been recommissioned with lithium-tantalum tubes.
Poseidon is now confident to use the equipment setup within the on-site laboratory for initial evaluation of lithium-tantalum bearing samples.
All soil samples and rock chip samples can be analysed cost effectively on site with a 1-2 day turnaround.
Poseidon plans to use its plant and infrastructure to become the first hard rock lithium producer in the Lake Johnston region and establish it as a central lithium processing hub.
The company has already entered into an agreement with Kidman Resources Ltd (ASX:KDR) to process Kidman’s Mt Holland lithium ore at Poseidon’s Lake Johnston plant.
