Orion Gold NL (ASX:ORN) has generated significant new exploration targets from ongoing high-resolution geophysical surveys at its Fraser Range Nickel-Copper Project in Western Australia.
While the data analysis is of a preliminary nature, clear areas of priority interest for potential magmatic nickel-copper mineralisation are already observable.
Notably, the company has observed “eye” features that are characteristic of mafic-ultramafic intrusions in the Fraser Range Province.
There has been an increase in activity in the Fraser Range region as Independence Group NL (ASX:IGO) moves towards concentrate production from its Nova-Bollinger Nickel-Copper Project.
Orion maintains a significant landholding of 3,830 square kilometres in the Fraser Range, which is second only to Independence Group.
While Orion’s current focus is on the highly prospective Areachap Belt in South Africa, it is continuing to advance the Fraser Range projects through systematic exploration such as the current surveys.
The company has several advanced zinc-copper, nickel-copper, base metal and gold projects in South Africa.
Last month, Orion intersected significant grades of zinc and copper from an ongoing maiden drilling program at the historical Prieska Copper Mine in South Africa.
