Lodestar Minerals Ltd (ASX:LSR) will commence a 5,000 metre aircore drilling program designed to in-fill drill supergene (near-surface) gold mineralisation at the Contessa gold prospect.
Contessa is located within Lodestar's wholly-owned Ned’s Creek project located 170 kilometres north of Meekatharra in Western Australia.
The Contessa prospect is a large composite granite intrusion that displays extensive surface gold anomalism.
The drilling is designed to in-fill around defined supergene mineralisation to locate a discrete bedrock source.
Lodestar will also test bedrock geochemical targets identified by aircore drilling in 2014.
Significant drill intersections reported at Contessa to date include 5 metres at 6.6 g/t gold from 55 metres and 10 metres at 5.6 g/t gold from 55 metres.
The new drilling program is expected to commence towards the end of October, subject to program of works approval and weather conditions.
