Metal Tiger nudges higher on permitting progress in Thailand

Metal Tiger shares ticked higher as it said the permitting process to bring the Song Toh and Boh Yai silver-lead-zinc mines in Western Thailand was now underway.

Shares in resource investor Metal Tiger PLC (LON:MTL) nudged higher as it said the permitting process to bring the Song Toh and Boh Yai silver-lead-zinc mines in Western Thailand was now underway.

This is just part of wider newsflow the group expects from Thailand, involving exploration for the remainder of 2016.

In August, the firm said it had finalised the joint venture agreement on the mines and now a permitting team has been established in the Bangkok office.

The permitting is for mining lease applications for a 43-101 compliant resource of 4,851,000 tonnes and thereafter mine and existing processing plant refurbishment leading to commercial production.

Metal Tiger is privileged to be investing in Thailand, a country which offers tremendous geological opportunity, said chief executive Paul Johnson.

"We are helping to build an ambitious Thai business that has been initially financed through London, but where we anticipate Asian finance will increasingly play a part in financing local activities.”

Metal shares gained 0.78% in early deals to stand at 3.225p.
