Anson Resources Ltd’s (ASX:ASN) shares are trading higher after producing premium quality flake graphite from the Ajana project, suitable for both spherical and expandable products.
The company’s shares were last trading at $0.035, 30% up for the day.
ANZAPLAN, located in Germany, produced spherical graphite from a bulk sample collected from a small historic pit at Anson’s Ajana Graphite Project in Northampton, Western Australia.
Importantly, medium to super jumbo flake represented 29% of the distribution in the concentrate which had an average grade of 94.1% total graphitic carbon.
Anson is now focused on securing all necessary approvals in order to commence follow-up drilling of a number of priority targets defined during the recently completed aerial electromagnetic survey.
The preliminary results from the survey has identified seven priority 1 and five priority 2 electromagnetic anomalies in the Walcott Prospect.
In August, rock chip sampling results from Ajana returned up to 42.3% total graphitic carbon.
Anson’s tenements are located within Proterozoic gneissic geology, which typically hosts high grade graphite deposits in Western Australia and other regions around the world.
