SmartWall TDS protects companies from distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks

Cyber security firm Corero Network Security PLC (LON:CNS) has secured an order from a “top ten” US cable operator for its SmartWall Threat Defense System.

This deal is valued at over US$0.2mln and Corero hopes that the tie-up will lead to further orders from the same client in 2017.

"This contract win builds on our recent successes with service providers in the US and Europe,” said chief executive Ashley Stephenson.

“SmartWall TDS continues to prove its market leading capabilities in automatic, in-line, real time DDoS protection."

The cable operator is a leading communications and entertainment service provider focused on the smaller US towns and cities, Corero said.

The order follows a successful proof of concept trial and competitive procurement process.

Corero added that the contract includes multiple SmartWall TDS products, as well as supporting SmartWatch services for one year.

The order win will come as welcome news to the company which recently told investors that full-year revenues would miss expectations.

Corero’s SmartWall Threat Defense System detects and blocks Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks which can cripple a company’s operations and impact customers.
