Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has completed an aerial electromagnetic survey at its Ajana Graphite Project 130 kilometres north of Geraldton in Western Australia.
The survey consisted of 551 line kilometres flown over the entire Ajana Project area.
The preliminary results from the survey has identified seven priority 1 and five priority 2 electromagnetic anomalies in the Walcott Prospect.
At the Mary Springs Prospect, five priority 1 and six priority 2 anomalies have been interpreted.
The electromagnetic anomalies are interpreted to contain strong conductive bodies at the higher end of the conductors, indicative of graphite or interconnected sulphide minerals.
Modelling of the strength and orientation of the conductors forming the electromagnetic anomalies will be completed in the coming weeks.
The number of the electromagnetic anomalies interpreted is a significant development for the project and work will commence on securing the necessary government approvals to allow for exploration drilling to begin in these areas.
Anson’s tenements are located within Proterozoic gneissic geology, which typically hosts high grade graphite deposits in Western Australia and other regions around the world.
In August, rock chip sampling results from Ajana returned up to 42.3% total graphitic carbon.
Importantly, Anson was successful in producing uniform and defect-free single layered graphene from the graphite flakes at Ajana.
