Tungsten Mining NL (ASX:TGN) has commenced drilling to enhance the resource base of the Mt Mulgine Tungsten Project located within the Murchison Region of Western Australia.
Tungsten Mining has 100% of the tungsten and molybdenum rights on a contiguous group of tenements that have been the subject of significant previous exploration for tungsten and molybdenum.
In June 2016, the company reported an updated mineral resource estimate for the Mt Mulgine Project.
The resource inventory is 88.6 million tonnes at 0.18% tungsten and 186ppm molybdenum, making it one of the largest tungsten resource inventories held by an ASX-listed company.
Encouraging results achieved from the initial phase of a core sampling program at Mulgine Hill included 8.6 metres at 0.24% tungsten and 4.9 metres at 0.18% tungsten.
Tungsten Mining has developed a strategic development plan for project directed towards the production of tungsten concentrate within 2 years.
A shallow 35-hole 1,500 metre reverse circulation drilling program targeting significant near surface tungsten mineralisation has commenced.
In addition, a large diameter, 200 metre diamond drilling program has also commenced to collect metallurgical samples.
Based on the results of the drilling and historical core sampling program, it is expected that an updated resource estimate will be undertaken in the December quarter.
