The Australian equity market has drifted lower on light volume, as the country gets ready for the last long weekend of Financial Year 2016.

In late afternoon trade, the ASX All Ordinaries has lost 0.9% to 5392.


BLUE CHIP ROUND-UP

Major miners
 
BHP Billiton (ASX:BHP) down 4.2% to $18.79; Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG) flat at $3.27; Newcrest (ASX:NCM) up 1.1% to $22.27; Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) down 3.1% to $44.04.


Energy or Oil and Gas

Oil Search (ASX:OSH) down 2.5% to $6.82; Santos (ASX:STO) down 2.4% to $4.69; Woodside Petroleum (ASX:WPL) down 1.3% to $26.98.


Big 4 banks

ANZ Bank (ASX:ANZ) down 1.3% to $24.19; Commonwealth Bank (ASX:CBA) down 1.2% to $75.39; National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) down 1.4% to $26.03; Westpac (ASX:WBC) down 1.3% to $29.92.
