Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI) has identified multiple pegmatite targets throughout the company’s Mt York lithium-gold project using recently acquired airborne geophysical data.
The Mt York project is located in the highly prospective Pilgangoora region of Western Australia’s East Pilbara.
The project is near the world-class Pilgangoora Lithium Tantalum Project being developed by Pilbara Minerals (ASX:PLS), as well as the Altura Mining (ASX:AJM) and Dakota Minerals (ASX:DKO) lithium projects.
In February 2016, Kairos had commissioned a detailed airborne geophysical survey across the company’s newly acquired Mt York tenements.
The targeting identified a series of radiometric anomalies throughout the tenement package, suggesting the potential for lithium-bearing pegmatites.
Initial testing of the targets will include geological mapping and surface rock chip sampling followed by drill testing.
A drilling program at Mt York is planned for early next quarter.
