There may have been a few wobbles on Wall Street overnight, with the Dow, S&P 500 and NASDAQ all falling, but there was the opposite on the Australian Securities Exchange today.
A boost in commodity prices helped the major miners tow the broader index higher, with the ASX All Ordinaries ending the session 0.8% higher at 4990.
The price of Aussie Gold is higher in electronic trading, at 3pm Sydney, Australia, time.
The yellow metal last traded at US$1244 an ounce, and with the exchange rate of AUD / USD 0.714, this equates to over A$1730 an ounce.
The Australian Dollar is slightly weaker.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Reserve Bank of Australia left the cash rate at its record low of 2%.
