ASX tracks slowly as this forward-looking explorer ticks higher

The Australian All Ordinaries has traded relatively flat today, but one polymetallic explorer has added value with big plans for the coming year.

The Australian All Ordinaries was traded only as high as 5,117 points this morning as static performances from resources and many technology stocks kept the index in a flat range around 5,075 points.

Telecommunications has been one of the poorer performing areas of the economy today, with the sector last showing a 1.2% loss in value as a group. This has been partially offset by lukewarm shows from healthcare stocks and financials.

MARKET WATCH

Investigator Resources (ASX:IVR) has been one of the subtle standouts today, last trading 10% stronger at A$0.011 with an update on ambitious plans to improve its diversified Gawler Craton holdings in South Australia.

This included notably a priority for 2016 to convert resources at the Paris silver project into the higher confidence indicated category.

This will add momentum to a recent 60% increase in Paris' resource base to 8.8 million tonnes at 116 g/t silver for 33 million ounces of contained silver.

Importantly, this reinforces confidence in the project’s potential to support a large, open pit mine with a more economic operating model thanks to the shallowness and high grade of the deposit.

The size of Paris could more generally be an indication that the surrounding region is significantly mineralised with economically viable silver.

More 2016 planning by the company was revealed to include exploration to prove up the base metal targets around Paris, diversifying the overall project area and adding shareholder value.
