Redx Pharma welcomes former AstraZeneca executive

Karl Hård, formerly at pharma titan AstraZeneca PLC has joined executive management as head of investor relations and corporate communications

Redx Pharma Plc (LON:REDX) told investors that a former AstraZeneca executive has joined the management team.

Karl Hård, formerly at pharma titan AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) for 20 years, has joined executive management as head of investor relations and corporate communications.

Meanwhile, chief financial officer Phil Tottey will leave at the end of the month to pursue new opportunities, the group said.

Andrew Booth, currently the financial controller, will take the role until a permanent appointment is made.

Hård's scientific experience covers oncology, immunology and infection.Over the last nine years, he held senior roles within Investor Relations, latterly as vice-president.

Before that, he worked as Global Programme Director, establishing new external collaborations, and as Director in Biological Chemistry, leading research into novel pharmacological targets.

Redx chief executive Neil Murray said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Phil for his significant contribution to Redx and particularly for his work during the company's IPO. We wish him well in his future endeavours.

He added: "I am very pleased to welcome Karl Hård to Redx as Head of Investor Relations. His long career at AstraZeneca, which encompassed both scientific research and investor relations, means that he will be a valuable addition to the management team."

Shares eased 1.13% to 26.20p in early deals.
