St George Mining (ASX:SGQ) is currently conducting a high-impact drilling program at its wholly-owned East Laverton Project in Western Australia, which has delivered two new targets for drilling.
At the Windsor prospect, St George said that the DHEM surveys of the drill holes have identified two bedrock conductors that warrant further exploration.
Modelling and interpretation of the conductors is ongoing in conjunction with Newexco.
Drill holes will be designed to test these conductors following completion of the planned drill holes at Desert Dragon.
John Prineas, executive chairman, commented:
“Our systematic exploration at Windsor, which is using drilling and downhole EM concurrently, has delivered on expectations.
"We have two new exciting targets that will be prioritised for drilling in the
current program.
“Drilling will now focus on testing the downhole EM conductors at Desert Dragon.
"These are all very strong conductors in prospective geological positions and provide an excellent opportunity for immediate exploration success.”
Desert Dragon Central
Drilling at Desert Dragon Central has now been completed to test the moving loop EM (MLEM) plates at Dragon 6 and Dragon 8.
A drill hole intersected multiple ultramafic units, with the thickest intersection from 65 metres to 88 metres.
The Dragon 6 conductor was intersected between 115 metres to 121 metres, which the company said is close to the modelled depth.
The strong EM response relates to a 6 metre sulphidic and magnetic sediment with no obvious base metal mineralisation.
Drill hole DDRC044 tested Dragon 8 and was completed to a depth of 218 metres, with a thick ultramafic unit intersected between 159 metres to 202 metres.
Desert Dragon Central appears to be a highly prospective setting for a massive nickel sulphide deposit.
Drilling by BHP Billiton Nickel West in 2012 delivered: 18 metres at 0.40% nickel from 100 metres, including 4 metres at 0.57% nickel.
