St George Mining's (ASX:SGQ) drilling at Desert Dragon North has now reached 225 metres in depth.
Desert Dragon North is hosted within the company's wholly-owned East Laverton Property in Western Australia.
Ultramafic sequences and sulphidic sediments have been intersected with anomalous nickel, copper and zinc values in spot XRF analysis.
Detailed geological logging and XRF analysis of the drill hole is ongoing.
A downhole electromagnetic survey will now be completed on the hole prior to a potential extension.
John Prineas, executive chairman, commented:
“Our work at Desert Dragon North shows how our technical team is reacting to drilling data in a dynamic way and quickly adapting our targeting to provide us with the best chance of exploration success.
”While we complete the downhole EM survey at Desert Dragon North, we have commenced the much anticipated second phase of drilling at Desert Dragon Central.
“The next three targets have probably created the most interest for shareholders. We are very pleased to now be drilling these targets.”
Desert Dragon Central's VMS potential was previously highlighted through the results of the 2012 reconnaissance drilling completed by BHP Billiton Nickel West as part of the previous Project Dragon farm-in arrangement.
Assays will be highly anticipated.
