Spectrum Rare Earths finds heavy rare earth elements at Skyfall

Spectrum Rare Earths (ASX: SPX) has exposed magnetic end use and heavy rare earth elements at the first trial pits at its Skyfall Prospect in the Northern Territory.

Skyfall is located about five hours drive south of Darwin in a district that is home to multiple heavy and magnetic end use rare earth dominant prospects that indicate that mineralogy and geology may be favourable for lower cost mineral processing regimes.

Portable XRF results on trial pit samples are the first significant evidence of mineralisation beneath previously outlined surface geochemical anomalies.

XRF analysis of trenches has provided highly notable readings of both neodymium and yttrium in weathered rock, evidence of an increasingly promising mineralogy.

Trial pit samples have been prioritised with results expected within two weeks.

Diamond drilling is planned for early April.
