Rimfire Pacific Mining NL (ASX:RIM) has identified more high grade gold and silver from drilling that should assist in an upgrade of the resource base at the Sorpresa project within Fifield, located within located within the East Lachlan Fold Belt New South Wales.
Best hits from drilling included 7 metres at 2.44g/t gold and 461g/t silver at Sorpresa and also saw bonanza silver grades of greater than 1000g/t silver continue at Roadside prospect.
Currently, the Sorpresa resource is 7.9 million ounces of silver and 125,000 ounces of gold (at 0.5 g/t gold and 25 g/t silver cutoff) as an inferred and indicated mineral resource, which looks set to grow with the drill results to date.
This equates to 250,000 ounces of gold equivalent.
Rimfire has now expanded the Sorpresa basin style geology from 11 square kilometres to 18 square kilometres, with only less than 10% of the area drill tested.
The company has now established multiple project areas of importance involving hard rock gold, silver, copper and platinum within a 6 kilometres radius of the Sorpresa discovery.
Additionally, a potential upside exists at Sorpresa by defining new resources in under explored areas along strike to the south and at depth, down dip to the east and also in gap areas between mineralised domains.
