Rimfire Pacific Mining NL (ASX:RIM) shares rallied today after intersecting 7 metres at 4.60 g/t gold and 199 g/t silver from 39 metres depth at the Sorpresa project in Fifield, New South Wales.
This round of reverse circulation drilling also intersected 10 metres at 2.1 g/t gold and 313 g/t silver from 25 metres depth (including 1 metre at 1240 g/t silver).
The best result of the 2016 program was revealed in February, when a drill-hole assay returned 7 metres at 13.41 g/t gold and 751 g/t silver from 19 metres depth.
Rimfire has now expanded the known Sorpresa basin style geology from 11 square kilometres to 18 square kilometres, since the start of the 2016 mapping and sampling campaign.
This larger area is considered prospective for gold and silver, of which less than 10% has been drill tested.
A potential new gold trend of 4 to 6 kilometres length is also emerging via geochemical sampling at the Carlisle & Watts Lane areas. A new prospect, Blackstone, with high grade rock chip results averaging 4.9 g/t gold, has emerged in this corridor.
Rimfire raised $1 million capital in late 2015 to support the company’s exploration activities at the Sorpresa project.
