Rimfire Pacific Mining’s (ASX: RIM) reverse circulation drilling program has demonstrated the gold mineralisation at its Sorpresa Project in new South Wales is on a large scale.
Notably, 33 of the 35 holes assayed at the Sorpresa Prospect were gold mineralised while 14 of 16 holes at the Roadside Prospect contained strong silver mineralisation with gold credits.
One notable hole at Roadside intersected 20 metres at 230 grams per tonne silver from 70 metres including 2 metres at 934g/t silver as well as an additional 16 metres grading above 24g/t silver.
A 40 metre gold credit was also present in the hole with grades between 0.13g/t and 1.42g/t gold.
Rimfire has already established about 400 metres of north-south strike with mineralisation at the south end continuous for a length of 250 metres down dip and open while at the north end, it is continuous for a length of 110 metres down dip and open.
Geophysics reviews reinforce the prospects of the mineralisation continuing east at Roadside while additional shallow percussion drilling is occuring to the west at Roadside.
The company expects to receive over the next few weeks, assay results from the concurrent diamond drill program at Sorpresa.
Laboratory scale metallurgical appraisal on parts of the Sorpresa Mineralisation is also underway with petrological samples taken to gain additional insights into the mineralisation genesis.
Rotary air blast drilling will also continue to extend the newly defined zone southwest of Sorpresa.
