Rimfire Pacific Mining intersects gold-silver mineralised zones at Sorpresa project

Rimfire Pacific Mining (ASX:RIM) has intersected gold-silver anomalies at the Sorpresa project in New South Wales with four of the holes currently drilled intersecting mineralisation.

The diamond drilling program has completed 4 holes for a total of 901 metres and has found abundant brecciation, shearing, pervasive silica, sulphides and graphite.

While the core has yet to be assayed, based on core inspection and hand held XRF on core, all holes have intersected mineralisation with XRF showing high base metals including silver at 1077 grams per tonne.

The drilling also confirmed that the induced polarisation response is tied to the mineralised geology at the four drill holes.

The total diamond program had 5 holes planned for a total of 1,300 metres at 3 locations. The 5th hole is currently being drilled.

The reverse circulation percussion drilling is likely to restart end of this month with 13 more holes for a total of 2,500 metre of RC drilling to be completed.

In addition, the 52 hole rotary air blast drilling program has been extended with new planned holes scoping the same vicinity.

Rimfire had a cash balance of $2.49 million at the end of December 2012.
