Rimfire Pacific Mining (ASX: RIM) has just wrapped up a 21 hole reverse circulation drilling program over 1200 metres at the Sorpresa Gold Project, with the assays now pending.
The drilling program was designed to probe the Sorpresa Gold mineralisation at Fifield, aimed at delivering an improved understanding of the mineralisation extent and orientation.
John Kaminsky, executive chairman, commented "Our expectations from this drilling program are to see further evidence of the gold system, adding to our understanding of the orientation and looking to extend the strike of the mineralisation.
"The latest drilling is a modest scale program, when we consider the total size and open nature of the mineralisation encountered already, but each stage of drilling is definitely growing our knowledge of the project areas.
"Our visual impression of the latest program is positive, but we await the completed assay results and anticipate reporting in the first half of October."
The company is well funded to conduct the next stages of exploration work on the Sorpresa area and its surrounds, which has already begun.
This includes additional drilling programs to advance the entire area which remains largely unexplored.
