Rimfire Pacific Mining (ASX: RIM) is targeting gold in a 2,000 metres reverse circulation drill program at the company’s Sorpresa Gold Project.
The program will kick off later this month, to test four gold zones already established through previous bedrock results.
The company has previously conducted surface sampling, shallow auger drilling into bedrock and a detailed gravity survey.
An exploratory reverse circulation drill hole at Sorpresa from 2008 had an intersection that included; 13 metres at 1.59 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 8.7g/t silver and 0.53% lead, including 6 metres at 2.47g/t gold, 14.7g/t silver and 0.95% lead.
Sorpresa lies one kilometre outside of Fifield, New South Wales.
The company also owns the Bingara Diamond Project that covers 1,100 square kilometres near the historical alluvial diamond fields.
Historical diamond production estimates from the New South Wales Department of Mineral Resources stands at more than one million diamonds at the site.
The company has another gold project at Peel Fault as well as a platinum project at Fifield.
