Resource and Investment (ASX: RNI) has intersected copper or gold in all seven holes recently assayed from Forrest Gimp in Western Australia.
Highlights included 25 metres at 1.25% copper from 153 metres with 9 metres at 2.52% copper, and 4 metres at 2.11% copper from 158 metres within broader intersection of 30 metres at 0.44% copper.
Gold assay results from the overlying oxide gold cap included 28 metres at 2.85g/t gold from 36 metres with 2 metres at 25.1g/t gold, and 10 metres at 1.94g/t gold from 110 metres with 2 metres at 7.13g/t gold.
Geochemistry is consistent with a volcanogenic hosted massive sulphide deposit and priority follow-up diamond and reverse circulation drilling programs have commenced.
Results in April included 15 metres at 1.06% copper from 154 metres, including 1 metre at 7.13% copper and 1 metre at 2.34% copper.
Another intercept returned 8 metres at 1.17% copper from 132 metres, including 1 metre at 6.47% copper.
As currently understood, the copper mineralisation at Forrest Gimp is interpreted as a steeply dipping oxide zone beneath a substantial gold-rich cap, defined over a strike length of 250 metres, and remains largely open.
Significantly, Forrest Gimp and Wodger form part of a 12 kilometre volcanogenic hosted massive sulphide target horizon, adding to the likelihood that results to date are indicative of a larger mineralised system.
