Ramelius Resources (ASX: RMS) has made further high grade gold intersections at its Vivien Gold Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields including 6.7 metres at 8.29 grams per tonne gold and 2.57 metres at 18.16g/t gold.
The assays have been returned from geotechnical and step-out exploration drilling to test the area below the historical Vivien pit and the modelled north-eastern plunge extensions to the Main Lode.
One hole, intersected hangingwall mineralisation of 6.7 metres at 8.29g/t gold that compliments the previously reported main lode intersection of 6.5 metres at 30.4 g/t and confirms good continuity of mineralisation around historical drill holes.
It also highlights the potential for greater thicknesses of high grade gold mineralisation to be discovered below the Vivien pit.
Ramelius is acquiring the Vivien Project from Agnew Gold Mining Company, a subsidiary of Gold Fields Limited for $10 million. It has already made the first payment of $5 million.
The Vivien gold project is a high grade vein style deposit located near the Agnew gold mine in the northern goldfields of Western Australia, and carries a current Indicated Mineral Resource of 579,000 tonnes at 8.3 grams per tonne for 154,000 ounces of gold.
