Quickstep Holdings (ASX:QHL) should trade higher after delivering the first shipset of carbon fibre wing flaps to global security and aerospace company, Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT).
Quickstep was awarded the tender to manufacture wing flaps for Lockheed's Super Hercules aircraft in March 2012 and signed a U.S. $75 million memorandum of agreement in December 2013.
The delivery, completed ahead of schedule, is the first of 24 shipsets of wing flaps to be manufactured by Quickstep under an initial US$12 million purchase order which is included in the memorandum.
Quickstep has now secured a second purchase order valued at US$9.8 million from Lockheed, which covers manufacture and delivery of 12 further shipsets beginning in the first half of 2015.
With this successful delivery, Quickstep is showing the world its ability to provide high volume carbon-fibre composites for complex international supply chains.
Quickstep is capitalised at $87 million.
