Northern Uranium 34% share spike prompts ASX 'speeding ticket'

With a 34% jump to $0.575 in intra-day trading today, from $0.43 on Wednesday 12 January, Northern Uranium (ASX: NTU) has received a price and volume 'speeding ticket' from the ASX.

The company said it is not aware of any material information that has not been released to the market, which may have prompted the sudden investor interest.

The reality is many uranium companies on the ASX are going through a positive price re-rating, as the price of uranium continues to increase, along with foreign interest and investment in the sector.

The price of uranium is now US$66 a pound, US$3.5 a pound higher in just the last week, and 65% above mid-2010 levels.

The Northern Uranium share price has eased in early afternoon trade to $0.54, or 2% higher on the day.
