Neuren Pharmaceuticals (ASX: NEU) has been granted a trading halt today - with its shares placed in pre-open - following speculation of results in relation to the current Phase 2 trial of NNZ-2566 in Rett Syndrome.
NEU said it expects to make an announcement before the close of trade today.
NNZ-2566 is a synthetic analogue of glypromate, and influences the process of underlying acute and chronic CNS disorders.
Rett Syndrome severely affects speech and movement, and is a genetic disorder of the nervous system - which is usually only seen in girls and affects all body movement.
The halt will last until the earlier of an announcement being made to the market, or the opening of trade on Wednesday 7th August 2013.
