Morning news wrap: BP, Reckitt Benckiser, Anglo American, National Grid, Tullow Oil, Peason

In the FTSE 100, consumer products company Reckitt Benckiser (LON:RB) said its net revenues in Q2 jumped 10% to £2.06 billion.

Miner Anglo American (LON:AAL) said that it would report underlying earnings in respect of Anglo Platinum Limited of US$222 million for the six months to 30 June.

Publisher Pearson (LON:PSON) said sales in the first half were up 9%, while upgrading the full year outlook for earnings to 70 pence.

National Grid (LON:NG) said that the outlook for the year remained positive and in line with expectations.

Oil and gas producer Tullow Oil (LON:TLW) announced that the Owo-1 exploration well in the Deepwater Tano licence offshore Ghana has intersected a column of “excellent quality” light oil.

Oil and gas company with assets in Iraq, Syria and Gulf of Mexico, Gulfsands Petroleum (LON:GPX) has announced that gross oil production from the Khurbet East and Yousefieh fields combined has been increased to approximately 20,000 barrels of oil per day in July, while gross cumulative oil production from the two fields has now passed 9.8 million barrels.

ECO Animal Health Group (LON:EAH) has said that following a successful Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspection, the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA) has approved ECO’s manufacturing facility in China, which produces the Aivlosin Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient.

Irish oil and gas exploration company Petroceltic International (LON:PCI) has signed a contract for drilling rig services with Dubai-based Dalma Energy LLC. The rig is currently stacked in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria, and will begin mobilisation immediately to the Isarene permit.
