Minbos Resources hits significant mineralisation extensions at Cabinda

Significant extensions to the previous identified mineralisation has been intersected at the Minbos Resources (ASX: MNB) Cabinda Phosphate Project in the Republic of Angola, after drilling comprising 78 holes for 3523 metres was completed on the first priority area.

Minbos said more drilling is planned in the area to potentially extend mineralisation by up to 4kms to the south.

The first batch of samples, mainly from the Mongo Tando central area, have been sent to South Africa for assay, with initial results expected to be received within three weeks.

Drilling has also commenced on the next priority area – Ueca.

Historical drilling defined significant potential resources at Ueca which will be targeted by the current program of 41 holes, with 13 holes already completed, with the company reporting better than expected thicknesses of mineralisation.

The drill rig mobilised from Wallis drilling is averaging 200m per day, and is completing 33% more drilling than the company initially forecast.

Minbos is aiming to achieve from the four priority project areas in Cabinda a JORC compliant inferred resource, then upgrading to indicated in the first 1st half of 2011.
