Maximus Resources finds gold at Eagles Nest, WA

Maximus Resources (ASX:MXR) has intersected some good grade gold from first drilling at the Eagles Nest project, which is home to the “Golden Eagle” nugget, the largest gold nugget ever discovered in Western Australia at 1,137 ounces.

An eight hole program was completed for a total of 809 metres testing for strike and depth extensions to known mineralisation in the Eagles Nest goldfield.

The best results were 24 metres at 3.05 g/t gold including 8 metres at 4.0g/t and 7 metres at 4.0 g/t including a metre at 14.7 g/t.

As a result, a follow up program is planned for the Spargoville tenements.

The Eagles Nest project is located on the Spargoville shear approximately 8 kilometres south of the previously mined high grade Wattle Dam gold mine operated by Ramelius Resources (ASX:RMS).

The results indicate potential for similar high grade gold mines.

Previous drilling had confirmed mineralised intersections to a depth of 150 metres below surface.
