White Cliff Minerals intersects massive suphides at Lake Johnston

White Cliff Minerals (ASX: WCN) has intersected massive suphide zones of between 2 metres and 15 metres in five of the nine reverse circulation holes drilled at its Lake Johnston nickel project in Western Australia.

In addition, disseminated sulphides associated with sediments were identified in three of the four remaining holes.

Taken together, these successfully explain the electromagnetic conductors within the ultramafic rock sequence.

The sulphide zones consist of pyrrhotite and/or pyrite with no visible nickel sulphides identified.

The remaining hole was drilled into the central ultramafic unit to follow up very high silver results from LPDD004 reported last year.

It intersected an extensive nickel laterite sequence followed by cumulate ultramafic and ended in felsic porphyry. In addition, two sulphide zones were intersected,

All holes have been submitted for assay with results expected within two weeks.

The drill program was partly funded by the Western Australian Government’s Royalty for Regions Exploration Incentive Scheme, which will contribute $30,000 towards the drilling at Mt Gordon.

White Cliff has also confirmed several category one geophysical conductors at depths of 100 to 200 metres at Mt Glasse after completing an electromagnetic survey.

The conductors are consistent with sulphide mineralisation and occur on the contact of the central ultramafic unit and adjacent felsic and mafic volcanics and dip 55-70 degrees to the north or west.

Importantly, the conductors occur down dip from coincident nickel-copper-platinum soil anomalies and represent outstanding exploration targets.

The company is waiting for the final geophysical report prior to planning the June/July phase three drilling.

The company had raised $1.6 million in February 2013.
