White Cliff Minerals (ASX: WCN) and joint venture partner T2 Gold have intercepted further near surface copper at the Chanach Copper Gold Project in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The latest results from the completed 2011 drilling program include:
- 103 metres at 0.32% copper from surface, including 1 metre at 1.27% copper and 9 metres at 0.75% copper;
- 67 metres at 0.31% copper from 8 metres, including 8 metres at 0.81% copper; and
- 55 metres at 0.3% copper from 33 metres, including 5 metres at 0.63% copper.
Results from this drill program indicated that gold is associated with the copper mineralisation, with the peak copper intercept of 1 metre at 1.27% copper including 0.11 grams per tonne gold.
White Cliff and T2 believe Chanach has the potential to develop into a large copper-gold resource, with the identification of gold improving the project’s economics.
Assays for the remaining four holes from the 2011 drill program are expected this month.
