Volta Mining (ASX: VTM) is preparing an update on the initial Exploration Target for the Mbombo iron ore project in Gabon, with the ASX this morning granting the company a trading halt - with its shares placed in pre-open.
Volta released its first exploration update for its Mbombo Iron Ore Project in late 2012, which is a licence area covering 3,922 square kilometres and located adjacent to the Belinga Iron Ore Project – an estimated 4BT iron ore project in the north east of Gabon.
Geophysical survey data has been acquired by Volta and reprocessed by Core Geophysics for the entire. Volta had close to $1.5 million in cash at the end of December 2012.
The halt will last until the earlier of an announcement being made to the market, or the opening of trade on Wednesday 20th March 2013.
