Lodestar Minerals (ASX:LSR) has the drill rig in motion at its Camel Hills tenements, 60 kilometres south and east of Gascoyne Resource’s (ASX:GCY) Glenburgh one million ounce gold deposits.
A reconnaissance field visit by geologist Dr Walter Witt found that the gold interpretation is consistent with the GSWA predictive mineral systems that identified potential for intrusion‐related gold systems in the Camel Hills area.
The target is a 1.2 kilometre long, gold anomalous zone located at the base of a prominent ridge.
A series of shallow trenches up to 280 metres long will sample near – surface material north of historic RC drilling that reported anomalous gold.
There is a sense that limited drilling completed by previous explorers may have missed the mark and not conclusive of the gold potential at Camel Hills.
This time around shallow aircore drilling located between the trenches will test for bedrock related lode gold mineralisation.
Close‐spaced, shallow drilling, in combination with trench sampling, is intended to test the contact zone for the presence of gold.
