Viking Ashanti (ASX: VKA) has extended the soil anomaly at the Akoase East Gold Project in Ghana by 1.4 kilometres as a result of soil sampling.
The company is planning to start a 2,500 metre reverse circulation drilling program in early November to test the Alimac prospect soil anomalies.
The recent soil sampling program was designed to infill a 2.5 kilometre strike area between Akoase East and previous soil sampling further north east, over the Alimac prospect, along the Kadewaso structural trend.
Results from the sampling program have defined two sub-parallel geochemically anomalous trends, interpreted to represent the north eastern extensions of the soil anomaly at Akoase East.
Over the next six months, Viking Ashanti is planning to drill 7,000 metres of reverse circulation and 500 metres of diamond drilling at Akoase East.
